The serial truces Israel has accepted to obtain hostage releases from Hamas have run their course. At this point, their long-term disadvantage outweighs the immediate advantage achieved. Therefore, it is time to reengage the enemy in full-scale combat until its complete destruction.
The bad policy thinking and faulty paradigms of the past about Palestinian-Israeli conflict still dominate in many capitals around the world, and too many people fall prey to the enemy’s propaganda. Here are ten myths that must be busted, ten arguments that must be won.
Reticence to condemn Hamas amounts to collusion against Israel. Hesitancy to express explicit support for Israel at this time, which also will mean unequivocally backing Israel in the many months ahead of tough fighting to crush Hamas, is tantamount to siding with the enemy.
Shattered by Hamas atrocities are decades of faulty strategy. Not shattered by Hamas is the age-old stamina and spirit of the Jewish People; the grit to survive and thrive.
There is no moral equivalence whatsoever between Palestinian terrorists and Israeli troops. Falsely balanced diplomatic formulations like those that "call upon all sides to end the cycle of violence" must be rejected. This is prattle that covers for Palestinian extremism and rejectionism, and retards the cause of peace.
I told interlocuters in the Arabian Gulf last weekend that Israel firmly will assert its sovereignty and governance in the face of Israeli Arab and Palestinian lawlessness. That is what most Israelis expect of their new government! At the same time, I assured Israel's Emirati and Bahraini allies that Israel will do so without racist incitement and delegitimizing rhetoric, and without crude demonstrations of its power, but rather with finely calibrated tools and from an approach of maximum willingness to dialogue. (I hope that I am right....)

That truism certainly applies to the modern, sovereign state of the Jews, the State of Israel. Other countries can legitimately disagree with policies promulgated in Jerusalem, but the leaders of this country must never allow others to treat Israel as dross....
