David M. Weinberg is a government relations and foreign affairs specialist based in Israel, with corporate p.r. and lobbying experience in the fields of defense and diplomatic affairs, Jewish community affairs, academia, medicine, science, and tourism – with expansive global contacts in these fields.
He is managing senior fellow at the Jerusalem-based Misgav Institute for National Security & Zionist Strategy, and a fellow at the David Institute for Security Policy.
He also is Israel office director of Canada’s Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs [1].
He is a defense, diplomatic, political, and Jewish world columnist for The Jerusalem Post [2] and Israel Hayom [3] newspapers and for the Jewish News Syndicate (JNS). He writes and speaks on Israeli diplomacy, Israeli politics and society, religion and state in Israel, Israel-Diaspora relations, antisemitism and anti-Zionism, the battle for Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, the Abraham Accords, Jewish heroes and thinkers, halachic masters and traditions, and more.

He studied international relations and history at the University of Toronto and Bar-Ilan University; Jewish law and thought at Yeshivat Hakotel under Rabbi Chaim Yeshayahu Hadari zt”l, and at Yeshivat Har Etzion under Rabbi Dr. Aharon Lichtenstein zt”l; and oenology through the London-based Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), Level 3 certification.
Since moving to Israel in 1990, he has served in several public positions.
He was senior advisor to then-Deputy Prime Minister Natan Sharansky and founding coordinator of the Global Forum against Anti-Semitism in the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.
He also has been spokesman of the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies [6], of the Herzliya Conference on Israel’s National Security, [7] and of Bar-Ilan University [8]. He was founding vice president and a fellow at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security [9] (JISS).
He was senior adviser of The Tikvah Fund [10] in Israel; a public affairs and development consultant to Israel’s national hospital, the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer [11]; and assistant director of the Anti-Defamation League [12]Israel Office.
His consultancy, Beyad Halashon Advocacy & Communications Ltd. [13], specializes in branding, public and government relations, corporate profile publication, editing and speechwriting. Beyad Halashon is partnered with Aurora Strategy Group International of Canada and Mesh Branding Ltd. of Israel.
A precise and passionate speaker, Mr. Weinberg’s synagogue sermons, university lectures, and community briefings combine learned Jewish perspectives with political and strategic insight, always with an inspirational thrust. Listeners come away informed and spiritually uplifted.
He has spoken in Israel, Canada, the US, and Europe at many shuls, federations, advocacy forums, universities, and think tanks. He has appeared as an expert on CBC, CNN, Israeli television and radio, and been quoted in multiple international publications.
He conducts kosher food and wine tours and tutored tastings, and lectures on Jewish thought relating to wine. The Qatar-based Islamic media site Al-Jazeera accused Weinberg [14] in 2022 of being “Drunk on Zion” and “wine-washing the occupation” – titles of which he is very proud!
He is married with adult children and grandchildren, and lives in Nof Ayalon in central Israel.
