David M. Weinberg is a government relations and foreign affairs specialist based in Israel, with corporate p.r. and lobbying experience in the fields of defense and diplomatic affairs, Jewish community affairs, academia, medicine, science, and tourism – with expansive global contacts in these fields.
He is a senior fellow at Misgav: The Institute for National Security & Zionist Strategy, and Habithonistim: Israel’s Defense and Security Forum. He also is a defense, diplomatic, political, and Jewish world columnist for The Jerusalem Post and Israel Hayom newspapers, a prominent lecturer on public affairs, and an accredited expert on Israeli and kosher wines.
He also is Israel office director of Canada’s Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs.

He studied international relations and history at the University of Toronto and Bar-Ilan University; Jewish law and thought at Yeshivat Hakotel under Rabbi Chaim Yeshayahu Hadari zt”l, and at Yeshivat Har Etzion under Rabbi Dr. Aharon Lichtenstein zt”l; and oenology through the London-based Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), the world’s leading institute for qualifying sommeliers.
Since moving to Israel in 1990, he has served in several public positions.
He was senior advisor to then-Deputy Prime Minister Natan Sharansky and founding coordinator of the Global Forum against Anti-Semitism in the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.
He also has been spokesman of the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, of the Herzliya Conference on Israel’s National Security, and of Bar-Ilan University. He was founding vice president and a fellow at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security (JISS).
He was senior adviser of The Tikvah Fund in Israel; a public affairs and development consultant to Israel’s national hospital, the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer; and assistant director of the Anti-Defamation League Israel Office.
His consultancy, Beyad Halashon Advocacy & Communications Ltd., specializes in branding, public and government relations, corporate profile publication, editing and speechwriting. Beyad Halashon is partnered with Aurora Strategy Group International of Canada and Mesh Branding Ltd. of Israel.

He conducts wine and food tours in Israel and writes about kosher wines from around the world. According to Al-Jazeera he holds the distinction of being “drunk on Zion” and “wine-washing the occupation.”
He is married with adult children and grandchildren, and lives in Nof Ayalon in central Israel.
