The Haredi world of dependency, of living off the dole, is both unsustainable and sacrilegious. Our new government must help Haredim out of the hole they have dug for themselves by ending the all-encompassing government support system for those not even attempting to get a modern education or earn a living.
It's time to dial-down Palestinian expectations, not ratchet-up pressure on Israel; to search for alternatives to the defunct “two-state-now” approach, not make a mad sprint towards grandiose signing ceremonies on the White House lawn. Modest diplomacy is the only realistic way to push Israeli-Palestinian relations away from the dangers of confrontation.
