Israel needs a new Chief Rabbi, like David Stav, who will synthesize tradition with modernity, emphasize "Klal Yisrael," and rehabilitate the "Rabbinocracy" – without compromising halacha or insolently stonewalling secular Israel. Netanyahu and Bennett should back Rabbi Stav's candidacy.
